As we all set into our Fall routines, new schedules, programs, and competitions are in the air. In September, we had an outstanding month of competitions where both fighters 50Kal Holliday and Austin Vanderford took home wins.
50Kal Holliday was crowned the King (or should we say Queen?) of the Cage Strawweight Division World Title, a belt she earned from 5 rounds of intense battle against the seasoned competitor Brittany Sims. After going the distance judges scored the bout 49-46, Unanimous Decision in favor of Fifty, who now stands as a 6-0 undefeated amateur fighter with 3 titles in 3 different promotions. Whats next for Mrs. Holliday? A spot on the Southern Oregon Women's Wrestling Team where she hopes to complete an outstanding season. Keep an eye on her whereabouts at facebook.com/50kalholliday.
Austin Vanderford took home his second MMA victory at the Battle in the Burg III against Team Ronin's Eric McCoinco September 12th. Austin won his first MMA victory in the first round by RNC, and this fight was similar-- although this time he submitted his opponent by Side Choke. Austin isn't stopping there, in just a few weeks he will be fighting in BudoFrights October 24th against Michael Collazo at 185.
Our team is proud to announce the addition of two debut fighters this month, Irene White and Jerry De La Fuente. Irene is a 105er and has been training for 6 months, and is excited to get her feet wet in the Rogue Fights promotion in Redding, CA October 17th. Jerry is also a green foot, but don't be fooled--He spent 4 years in High School wrestling for Crater and trains like a work horse. His match is set for BudoFrights against opponent Ryan Axom who is also making his debut.
In other news, Rogue Combat is pushing to financially support our growing fight team and needs the community's help! Visit https://www.gofundme.com/354r9jxw to sponsor our local fighter to assist them in costs associated with training.
